Brachialgia: Cervical radiculopathy and differential diagnosis

Abstract


Brachialgia or upper limb pain can be caused by joint, soft tissue or neural pathology. This article discusses the common difficulty of cervical referred pain versus local shoulder pathology at a problem orienated primary care level. In addition, the more common peripheral nerve compression syndromes are discussed as a diffential diagnosis to cervical radiculopathy.
